Fleece Stall at North East Wool Show
If you have sheep or alpaca fleeces to sell, then you may be interested in bringing them to sell on our Fleece Stall at North East Wool Show on Saturday 12th August. The location of the event is Newcastle Racecourse (NE3 5HP). The stall is only running on the Saturday and not the Sunday.
We have a person to run the Fleece Stall, who will do this on a "sale or return" basis. In other words, you'll be able to pick up any unsold fleeces at the end of the day's selling. We'll need your fleeces on the stall before 9.15am on the Saturday morning (12th August), and you can pick up any unsold ones at about 4pm.
We're not sure how popular the stall will be, since this is the first running of North East Wool Show, so it's probably best not to bring more than about 10 fleeces.
Important information:
- Please skirt all fleeces. The fleeces must be in a clean condition without contamination. If a fleece is contaminated, it will not be put on the stall.
- Please roll each fleece. Please do no tie it with plastic or polypropylene string.
- Each fleece should be in an individual bag with two copies of the form that we'll send you.
- Fleeces are sold by Alison Hewitson acting as the agent on behalf of you, the vendor.
- Alison will take a 20% commission of the marked sale price, and will pass 80% of the sale price to you.
- You are responsible for collecting the money you are owed from Alison between 3.30pm and 4.10pm (at the stall on Saturday 12th August). Please also collect any unsold fleeces at the same time.
- Any fleeces not collected by that time will become the property of Alison. She can then sell or dispose of them as she sees fit.
- Buyers have the right to examine fleeces before purchase. Any complaints will be directed to you as the vendor.
- As for pricing, we suggest a fleece would normally be in the range £10 to £20. But it's up to you on what price to put.
- The stall will be selling fleeces to the public between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 12th August. North East Wool Show also takes place on Sunday 13th August, but no fleece stall will be operating on the Sunday.
- You do not need to buy a ticket to enter the event. You'll be sent details beforehand where to drive and park to deliver/collect fleeces.
Please use the form below to enter your details. After submitting, Nick will contact you by email and send you the form which you'll need to print and fill in for each fleece.
